Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
An investigation has been launched into an alarming incident at Bareilly Central Jail in Uttar Pradesh, where a murder accused, identified as Asif, was found hosting a live video on a social media platform from his cell. Asif's brazen act, captured in a two-minute video, prompted the dismissal of three jail warders and the suspension of a deputy jailor following a complaint lodged by the deceased's brother to District Magistrate Umesh Pratap Singh. The video, in which Asif declares, "I am in heaven and enjoying it," has sparked widespread concern over security lapses within the prison system.
The authorities have taken swift action in response to the incident, suspending jail warders Ravi Shankar Dwivedi, Hans Jeev Sharma, and Gopal Pandey for dereliction of duty, while also attaching deputy jailor Kishan Singh Baldia to Jail Headquarters Lucknow. Additionally, written explanations have been requested from jailors Vijay Kumar Rai and Neeraj Kumar regarding the breach of security protocols. As investigations continue, no objectionable items have been recovered in barrack searches, shedding light on the gravity of the situation within Bareilly Central Jail.
